Fantasy Auction

Auction Academy

How does an auction fantasy football league work?

An organiser creates the league and brings the managers together. Each manager receives the same budget. The group auctions Premier League players, and each player goes to one manager. The organiser records the final squads. Managers then select their teams, earn points and use transfers or sealed bids during the season.

Before auction night

Create the league, invite the group and agree the date. Auction League supports 6 to 20 managers. The default setup uses a £100m budget and a 14-player squad. The organiser can choose 13 to 16 players before season preparation.

  • Choose a room or video call.
  • Confirm who will call each lot and record each sale.
  • Give managers the squad rules before bidding starts.
  • Ask each manager to prepare a shortlist and spending limits.

During the auction

The group runs the auction itself. Auction League does not yet provide a live online auction room. Name a player, invite bids and sell the player to the highest bidder. Track the winning manager, price and remaining budget.

From August to May

The organiser enters the final squads and prices. Managers select a legal team for each kick-off. Auction League calculates scores and the table. Managers can bid for free agents in sealed-bid rounds or agree a swap for organiser approval.

Common questions

Does the auction happen inside the app?

No. Your group runs the auction in person or on a call. The organiser enters the completed squads and prices afterwards.

How long does an auction take?

Allow an evening. The exact time depends on the number of managers, squad size and pace of bidding.
